Bridges Program

Marblehead High School, grades 9-12

The Bridges Program is a full day special education program for students in grades nine through twelve designed to address the comprehensive needs of students with significant developmental and neurological/cognitive impairments whose current level of instructional need requires significant modifications from the general education curriculum. The Bridges Program focuses on teaching functional academics and necessary life skills. Students are provided speech/language, social skills and an introduction to vocational skills training, along with early vocational experiences and preparation for post-high school employment.

Individual and small group academic instruction
High staff to student ratio
Functional application of content area instruction
Individual behavior supports
Weekly social skills groups with carryover and generalization of skills targeted across all school environments
Vocational skills training as well as community experiences
Assistive Technology consultant to provide support with the implementation of instructional tools, software and products to enhance learning
